We're pretty pleased with todays Free Track Friday - we've got a live number for you from the consistantly excellenty Mice Parade. The NYC based band have been pushing the boundaries of indie, folk and jazz for around a decade now, in the process helping reshape the sound of leftfield America. They may not have picked up the same plaudits, but Mice Parade have undoubtedly helped pave the way for the success of cerebral prospects such as Grizzly Bear, whilst they quietly continue to push forward into fertile musical experimentation. We gave their latest album, Candela, a glowing 8 out of 10 review, noting that it was both typically challanging, and their most accessible work to date. Never ones to rest on their laurels, todays track from the band is from their forthcoming live album, Live: England vs France, and is 8 minutes of mandolin driven junk yard folk, by turns tumultuous and sweet. Listen and download below.
