Free Track Friday: Bite the Buffalo

Raucous rock n roll duo Bite the Buffalo have been picking up some extreme praise from all quarters, with Total Guitar Magazine describing them as "a mash up of The Beatles and The Black Keys," and BBC Introducing swearing that they sounded like '5 people' rather than 2... If we were to add our tuppence to this litany of praise we'd probably say 1) They've got rock n roll fully sussed because 2) they sounded like a good time glam rock White Stripes, if someone had taught Meg to drum a bit better.

Armed with a 70's Hofner, a Marshall Stack and a shed load of fuzz, the British born brothers did most of their growing up in the mining towns of The Copperbelt, Zambia. With no record stores or outlets like MTV, they discovered their Western Influences from their Grandparent's old Beatles vinyl and from relatives visiting bringing gift wrapped Nirvana and Led Zeppelin. This has translated into songs that jive between being insanely catchy and rough as a bag of ugly spanners.

They've got a new single out at the ned of April called Blue Lips, more about that is over on their facebook, but in the meantime they've been kind enought to give us this humdinger, the track Southern Pink Flamingo. Listen to it here-
