With the current trend of younger, more experimental artists making it into the mainstream such as Plan B, Professor Green and Maverick Sabre, there is definitely room for pop artists influenced by hiphop and soul in the charts right now.

Here at Supajam I have had my beady little eyes on a band who embody all these things and who have produced a promising debut album called 'Progress Report' which is available to buy now on itunes, amazon and spotify….Here come Swagger.

Swagger are made up of Hugo Goggin (20) and Mitchell Hill (19). These two talented young guys are the creators and write the music and lyrics. Their band, soon to have a name, are Bella Goggin (17) on vocals, Dominic Hull (20) on vocals, Jack Taylor (17) on bass and Luke Seal (21) on drums.

Swagger break away from genre boundaries, mixing well produced beats with cleverly written and rapped lyrics from Mitch along with supporting vocals and harmonies from Dominic and Bella. The lyrics, often about relationships are recognisable to any teenager, written with style.

Mitch and Dom recently did a cover video of Aloe Blacc's hit 'I Need A Dollar' which has over 3,000 views on Youtube and has generated a lot of positive feedback.

The stand out song from the album is definitely the infectious and undeniably catchy 'Sell My Soul', for which the band have recently filmed a music video for, out mid July.

Being so young, Swagger bring down to earth and fresh vibes to their music. From the first listen you can feel that they would fill a gap in the market for a young band who mix the light hearted, catchiness of pop with the raw flow of hip hop and charisma of soul.

You can catch Swagger playing at Proud Galleries in Camden on Wednesday 29th June:
