ABBA announce new album, songs and special effects heavy tour
ABBA fans, the time is finally here: the foursome are back together and releasing a new album of songs. ABBA: Voyage will be released on Universal on November 5th… but you don’t have to wait that long as they’ve released two cuts right now.
I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down are the titles and not requests to fans! Bjorn said “The first song, ‘I Still Have In You’, I just knew that when Benny played the melody that it had to be about us. It’s about realising that it’s inconceivable to be where we are. No imagination could dream up that – to release a new album after 40 years and still be the best of friends, and still be enjoying each other’s company and have total loyalty. Who has experienced that? Nobody.”
There’s also going to be a live show of sorts. There won’t be holograms, but the band have all motion captured themselves. These digital versions will perform alongside a live band and are designed to do the new songs while looking and acting like the ABBA of 1979. Intriguingly, only one location has been announced: a residency at a purpose built three thousand capacity ABBA Arena in London in 2022.
