Amy Winehouse’s family want to create a West End hagiography

Amy Winehouse’s family want to create a West End hagiography
Amy Winehouse’s life and music is simply perfect for a West End show: you’ve got great talent, great songs, and a tragedy of huge emotional weight. It’s no surprise then that there are plans to turn the singer’s story into a show.

However, it’s not going to be bleak, at least not from comments by her dad, Mitch Winehouse, who is looking more for a hagiography. As he told The Sun: “A musical celebrating her life and music is being talked about for the near future… It is something I’d really like to happen and I’ve said I’m happy for it to go ahead… It would be for the West End. We want to do something that remembers Amy for what she was, there’s so much more to her than just the drugs and the alcohol.”

Question is, what would people pay to see?
