Terry Gilliam is the former Monty Python animator who’s made a name by directing a string of highly imaginative, if mentally out there, films such as Brazil. He also tried to film Don Quixote, but that turned into an epic disaster. So when you read the headline ‘Arcade Fire enlist Terry Gilliam’, you might be getting very excited about a new music video. Sadly that’s not the case, but the reality is stranger: Gilliam will be directing the live, free webcast of Arcade Fire’s August 5th gig in New York. We’re not entirely sure why a visionary director is needed for a gig webcast, but we’re expecting something pretty damn special as a result.
