Arcade Fire play secret dance show

Writers for The Main had a treat on the 4th of September, as they caught a secret Arcade Fire gig. The venue was a Salsa Bar in Montreal, complete with “neon lights and fake trees”, where upstairs the band went through new material which "was unexpectedly dance-oriented, due to the upbeat rhythms of conga drums and electronic flourishes alongside their most poppy sounds."

There won’t be any online footage as cameras and phones were banned, and you were told you’d be thrown out if they were seen. The highlight was a track described as "Imagine the Talking Heads' 'Once in a Lifetime', but if David Bowie had written it while on vacation."
