BBC to replace Glastonbury shaped hole in their schedule with their own festival

BBC to replace Glastonbury shaped hole in their schedule with their own festival
If you’re old enough to remember the Radio 1 Roadshow, don’t worry, the pain was a long time ago and you can move on. Recently the Beeb have been doing their ‘Big Weekend’ events, but the crown jewel of their music coverage has been Glastonbury, with a superb amount of live streaming: masses of acts and whole sets available online.

But there’s no Glasto in 2018 as the site takes a break, so what will the BBC do? Assuming the government haven’t obeyed Rupert Murdoch and disbanded it, in 2018 the BBC will run ‘The Biggest Weekend’, a four location festival appealing to the listeners of Radios 1, 2, 3 and 6. But not 4, there will not be a live Grime 4 Corbyn debate.

The same full streaming glory will be applied to what promises to be a diverse list.
