Band axed from Glastonbury after media realises they have a song called Kill Tory Scum
A band called Killdren have been axed from Glastonbury when the media realised they have a song called ‘Kill Tory Scum (Before They Kill You)’. The relevant Glastonbury section, Shangrai-La , issued a statement saying they were about pacifism and love, which doesn’t really match up to lyrics like “Even if it’s your dad or your mum/Kill Tory scum, kill Tory scum… Murder them all to the beat of a drum/Kill Tory scum, kill Tory scum,“ while a man in a suit gets punched and spat on. I think it’s safe to say that’s a bit much for the modern Glasto.

Now obviously Killdred get a right of reply in these things, and they’ve certainly a. got a load more publicity out of it than they would otherwise and b. have a video which awkwardly mixes text saying we don’t condone killing MPs with visuals of someone strangling on in a car, so we’re not sure what booker got them confused. Killdred would like you to know “if you have been sucked into the "publicity", give the video a watch for facts about the real violence in society inflicted by Tory policies....!!”

They’ve also taken the time to write an essay explaining their side, and it would be unfair to tl:dr it, so go take a look.
