BitTorrent Now music streaming service closed just months after launch

BitTorrent Now music streaming service closed just months after launch

BitTorrent's music streaming service BitTorrent Now has been shut just a few months after being launched.

Set up to compete with the likes of Spotify and Apple Music in June, it could not have been a success considering that both of the company's new CEOs Robert Delamar and Jeremy Johnson have been fired along with a number of staff.

Reports suggest BitTorrent spewed millions of dollars on the project, with one source saying that spending on the streaming service was “out of control.”

BitTorrent CFO Dipak Joshi has stepped in as interim CEO with their Los Angeles production studio is shut too.
