Black Deer Festival Win Award and here’s How You Can Play It

Black Deer Festival Win Award and here’s How You Can Play It
2018 was the first year for the UK’s Americana hued Black Deer Festival, and we can safely say things went very well because they’ve just won ‘Best New Festival On the Block’ at the Independent Festival Awards 2019. These are organised by the Association of Independent Festivals in honour of the thriving alternative to the corporate events, and here’s what Black Deer’s founders had to say:

“It was an emotional night, not least for winning our first award after an incredible inaugural year introducing our vision for Black Deer but excited for where it can go, and to know that the festival community is right there behind us too.”

But do you want to play Black Deer 2019?

We’re serious. If you’re a Country or Americana act then Black Deer want to hear from you because they have a submissions policy to find the best new talent the UK has to offer. Full details are below, and you (and your band) could be on the bill.

“We’re excited to announce that our band submission process will open on Thursday 1st November 2018 – closing on Monday 1st April 2019 (please do not try to apply after this date). To apply, please email: music@blackdeerfestival.com with links to your music/videos and a short bio.

Unfortunately, we get 100s of applicants and so we’re only able to respond to those that we’d like to invite to play at Black Deer Festival 2019 (please don’t apply if you have already done so previously).

If you have been successful we will contact you on or before Wednesday 1st May 2019 to discuss the offer of a slot at Black Deer Festival 2019. We love being able to give emerging new artists the platform to showcase their talent to the world – something, which through the band submission process, we were able to do in 2018 for some amazingly talented acts. Best of luck, we can’t wait to hear from you.”

Earlybird tickets are now available from here, and there’s a group deal that sees you get a fourth ticket free if you buy three. Go on, share a tent.
