Black Deer Focus: Alexander McKay

Black Deer Focus: Alexander McKay
Alexander McKay is playing next year’s Black Deer Festival, and there’s two ways you might have heard of him. The first is, of course, music, as this West Country artist has released the Brings Us Together EP and toured his sunny even when troubled Americana… but…
Alexander’s debut Ep featured a song called Stones, which turned an acting role: the lead in a movie named after his song, and we recommend the whole soundtrack. Obviously we had to bring you Stones today (we presume it’ll be in his Black Deer Set), but also a cut called Mistakes and Regrets recorded live last year, yunno, when we had gigs and going out and gravel voiced troubadours could transport us from a venue to the west coast in person. It’s definitely a last song of the night sort of thing.
Finally, there’s an acoustic cover of Red Hot Chili Peppers - Road Trippin', which he sings like a man with a concealed gun begging you.
Black Deer Festival takes place June 18-20 2021. Tickets from https://blackdeerfestival.com/
