Bob Marley: good for schools

A language teacher.

Bob Marley is already beloved of students, but mainly as someone to hang on their posters and listen to while getting caned. But a study by Kaplan International Colleges has found another, far more valuable, reason. Kaplan asked students in English language whether listening to music helped them learn, and 80% said yes. (Figures cited from Music-News).

They then asked what music, and the leader with 14% was Bob Marley. Michael Jackson came second with 11%, and Madonna 8%. And just to stop this looking totally comedy, Marley’s daughter Cedella has released a touching statement: "Our father's legendary music has touched and moved so many people. It's exciting to find out that his story-telling lyrics can enhance students' understanding of the English language."
