Bruce Springsteen signs absent note for kid that skived school to see his show

Bruce Springsteen has continued his legacy as most irresponsible father/consummate rockstar today, as he signed the abstent note of a child who'd skipped school to see one of his shows.

Yes, Michael Lenerty Springsteen obsessive and child of around 11 years old decided to fuck off that whole learning malarkey and get in A from the University of Loife. This is something that his father Mike - former teacher, current lawyer - felt in split minds about.

"It was the first day of school for the fifth grade at Masterman, and of course Bruce played his longest show," Mike told Philly.com. "As a fan I loved it; as a parent I hated it. I wanted to kill him!"

So they typed up a letter of absence and headed to the city's Free Library where 'The Boss' himself was signing copies of his new autobiography Born to Run.

Bruce was more than up for it.

And it worked.
