Buffy the Vampire Slayer gets spin off book series

Buffy the Vampire Slayer gets spin off book series
It’s been twenty years since Buffy the Vampire Slayer turned from naff film to all conquering TV series, so what better time to dig up that corpse. Simon & Schuster have commissioned a new series of young adults novels, to feature a new Slayer that was from the TV show’s final episode, assuming you were still watching then.
The writer is the successful and well regarded Kiersten White, who told EW  “When my agent asked if I was interested, I basically said, ‘Every book I’ve ever written was an audition for this.’ It’s still stunning to me that I get to contribute to a world that has been part of my imagination for more than half my life. Dreaming up my own slayer is one of the most surreal experiences of my career so far. I’m so excited to share her with diehard Scoobies and new fans alike!”
We assume the book will include older people pretending to be teenagers, and some awkward attempts at romance, just like the show.
