Carrie Fisher is a Major Part of Star Wars IX

Carrie Fisher is a Major Part of Star Wars IX
With the new Star Wars trilogy having given substantial time to returning stars Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, episode 9 seemed to be shaping up to have General Leia come to a triumphant foreground. Sadly, the actress behind Leia (aka Carrie Fisher) died before 9 started filming.
But that doesn’t mean Leia isn’t going to feature. Disney first said they wouldn’t recreate her using CGI or anything, and then the team making said previously unused footage would be adapted so Leia was in 9. We all assumed this meant a minor role, but there’s news from Fisher’s brother via Good Morning America:
“There’s a lot of minutes of footage. I don’t mean just outtakes. This is unused, new content that could be woven into the storyline. That’s what’s going to give everybody such a great kick. It’s going to look like it was meant to be. Like it was shot yesterday… We’re not allowed to talk about the details of anything… But we’re thrilled at what’s been done.”
Woop woop.
