Carrie Fisher will be in Star Wars 9 without CGI

Carrie Fisher will be in Star Wars 9 without CGI
The tragically early death of Carrie Fisher raised a difficult question that had, at some point, to be faced: she had filmed scenes for Star Wars episode 8, but was she meant to be in 9, and if she was what would Disney do? Using CGI to feature her was swiftly rejected by the studio as a mark of respect.
Well, we have some firm news, and a lot of vague bits. We still don’t know what Princess Leia / General Organa will be doing in 8, but she will be in 9. The New York Daily News reports Disney have discussed options with the family, and have Fisher’s brother Todd as saying “Both of us were like, ‘Yes, how do you take her out of it?’. And the answer is you don’t. She’s as much a part of it as anything and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi-Wan-when the saber cuts him down he becomes more powerful…I feel like that’s what’s happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue.”
Okay, but how do you do that? Not CGI. Unseen footage from undisclosed locations, although presumably episodes 7 and 8, will be used with the family’s permission.
