Club 8 return

Cubase

After critical success with 2010 LP ‘The People’s Record’ Club 8 are back with a new album with a much better title: Above the City. It’s still synth pop of the highest order, with a frozen, stepped back sheen and a vocal that’s as dark as it is polished. The first release is track ‘Stop Taking My Time’, and the album’s out May 21st. But there’s news for spotters of production, as the band explained the LP was created in “the thirteen year old program Cubase VST 5.0.” Why? Producer Johan Angergård explained  “With less advanced technology at hand you need to create your sounds in a more ‘hands on’, in-artificial kind of way.” Which meant plenty of field recordings.
