Creation boss turned down TV drama

Boo. Etc.

Given the sheer lunacy that operated at times in the offices of legendary label Creation, you’d think it would make a perfect drama. And the BBC and Channel 4 both approached Creation’s boss Alan McGee to make a TV show on it, but McGee turned them down as they wanted to do a straight dramatization, and he wanted something crazier. Saying the plans “reeked of miscalculation”, he favoured an idea put forward by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh to merge McGee with other infamous bosses and create something crazy. To be honest, we’re with the Beeb on this one.
