DFA 1979 debut first new songs in 6 years

Death From Above 1979 have debuted new material on their tour- watch here

Death From Above 1979 have finally debuted some new material. The duo, who released the well respected album You're A Woman An d I'm A Machine back in 2004, caused all sorts of ructions with their high energy, aggressive live show, then disbanded to pursue solo projects in 2006, before reuniting in 2011. In an open letter on their website, Sebastian Grainger wrote that they are working the songs out live on their current Canadian tour before recording them in the studio-

"Jesse and I have been writing new songs and the only way we feel like we can make them any good is to go out and play them for people. We’re going to throw our little muscle bound babies to the lions and see who survives. We tried just jumping into the studio, but the songs lacked spirit. They lacked life."

He continued: "So this tour is song CPR. There's no way for us to do it anonymously anymore, so we're inviting you to come along with us. Watch us do It. The way we used to. The way everyone used to. We’re a band, and bands just work it out together."

Watch two new tracks below... any thoughts on the new material?
