Dizzee Rascal opens fire on the Grime for Jeremy Corbyn campaign

Dizzee Rascal opens fire on the Grime for Jeremy Corbyn campaign
There were few things more jarring during the recent General Election than the dying corpse of the NME rising up like a phoenix with a campaign of open support for the Labour party. Quite a lot of music leaned Labour’s way, including many rappers and producers who led the Grime 4 Corbyn campaign. Given that Tory MPs seem uncomfortable around young people, it was a vote winner.

Now NME has had to host a leading act taking fire at the whole Grime 4 Corbyn affair, and it’s no less than Dizzee Rascal. He’s not exactly on board with it all: “Grime 4 Corbyn? I just don’t know what I’m supposed to feel about that – does he even listen to grime? Did he say anything about grime onstage at Glastonbury? No? Well, there you go.”

You wonder how the editor at NME reacted to realising they had to print that.
