Ed Sheeran and Drake dominate most played of the decade list
One of the benefits of Spotify as a dominant streaming service is it can provide a very good idea of what people have been listening to, and can produce ‘most streamed’ lists for the whole of the decade. So, here’s a small gap for you to try and guess…
…oh right we spoilered in the headline. Yes, Drake and Ed Sheeran take the top spots. Drake was the total most streamed, followed by Ed, while Ed had the most streamed song (Shape of You) followed by Drake (with One Dance.) Post Malone was third on both.
In terms of 2019 (arguably a fairer playing field as streaming wasn’t as big ten years ago), we have Post Malone as number one and Billie Eilish at number two. If you want to be more parochial, the UK list has Lewis Capaldi at one and Billie beaten into number two again.
