Finnish hitmaker Darude has never been to a sandstorm

Just in case you weren't disappointed enough with the lack of honesty and clarity that exists in 2016, and are looking for something else to challenge your core values, we have something for you. Finnish DJ and the artist behind the 2001 hit, 'Sandstorm' admitted yesterday that he has, as a matter of fact, never been in a sandstorm.

As it is a song that anyone who's ever set foot in a bar or club after 11pm has heard, we can all relate to this tale that emerged from his Reddit AMA. Asked whether he'd actually experienced the phenomenon in his mega-hit, he delivered the blow.

“No,” he confessed, “but [I have been in] a smaller one, dust devil, or whatever you want to call it..."

Hoping to repair the damage from the bombshell he'd just dumped, he added: “AND, I've got a picture from a few years back, when I was landing in Arizona I believe it was, where I literally landed like few minutes a sandstorm blew thru the airport area and you can see the edge on the pic. I tweeted something like "I've arrived" with the pic! :)”
