Fyre Festival’s clusterfuckathon continues: co founder arrested for fraud
You may remember Fyre Festival, the event aimed at up the upper end of the market, with top glamping, top bands, top food and plenty of opportunity to pretend you’re sexy and successful. You may also remember it was an utter disaster, with threats of violence, bad sandwiches and total chaos. If you didn’t go, you might have joined in with the Twitter surprise at it all. If you did go, you might be suing someone.

Well, US Attorny Joon Kim has accused co-founder Billy McFarland with fraud and had him arrested. As he says: “McFarland allegedly presented fake documents to induce investors to put over a million dollars into his company and the fiasco called the Fyre Festival,” Indeed, he had “promised a life-changing music festival, but in actuality delivered a disaster.”

The maximum sentence is 20 years. We should point out that another co-founder, Ja Rule, is not under suspicion.
