Glastonbury Festival confirms another iconic act for 2015

It has today been confirmed that gospel singer and civil rights activist, Mavis Staples will perform at Glastonbury Festival 2015.

The Glastonbury appearance has been confirmed with a bunch of shows, including Liverpool, London and Cambridge by her band leader Rick Holmstrom: "Looks like we'll be hitting more incredible locales in 2015. The Mavis Staples calendar is filling up fast... Look forward to seeing you!"

Add Mavis Staples to the short list of Lionel Richie and the Dalai Lama, and it's taking a special form.

Glastonbury Festival takes place between 24 and 28 June at Worth Farm, Somerset.
