HIV positive musician playing gig in Zambia where entry ticket is to get tested for HIV

HIV positive musician playing gig in Zambia where entry ticket is to get tested for HIV

Musician Thomas Muchimba Buttenschøn will play a gig soon in Zambia where the entry fee is to get tested for HIV.

The concert will take place on World AIDS Day on December 1st, 2015. It serves as The Muchimba Music Foundation's global fight against the spread of HIV and AIDS. Its goal is to attract as many humans as possible to get tested for HIV/AIDS, and into care if necessary. In conjunction with the Aids Healthcare Foundation, they will run a 4-week campaign to conduct the testing.

You can donate today to help this cause.

Born in Africa to a Danish father and Zambian mother, Thomas and his parents emigrated to Denmark shortly after his birth. Thomas and both of his parents were diagnosed with HIV in 1985. Both of Thomas' parents lost their battle to AIDS in 1994 when Thomas was just 9 years old. Thomas, too, was not expected to survive, but has managed to do so.

The Muchimba Music Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness through the power of music. Learn more about it here.
