Harrison Ford sues Star Wars Producers 2 million

Harrison Ford has sued producers of Star Wars Disney for crushing his leg on the set of the film at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

The story goes that a hydraulic door on the iconic Millennium Falcon fell “millimetres from his face” and crushed his leg like a “blunt-edged guillotine".

“In the original film, if there had been a door, it would have been closed with a pulley and a stage hand just closing it,” the 74-year-old Ford told Jimmy Fallon of the experience. “But now we had lots of money and technology and so they built a fucking great hydraulic door which closed at light speed.”

Prosecutors compared the accident to a 'car collision' suggesting the incident it could have killed Ford.

"The greatest failing of all on behalf of the company is a lack of communication, a lack because, if you have a risk assessment and you do not communicate it, what is the point of having one?” said Judge Francis Sheridan. “That is the most serious breach here.”

In the end, the Disney subsidiary Foodles Productions pleaded guilty to two criminal charges of failing to protect workers, and was this week fined £1.6million.
