Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit

If there is one nugget of comfort to take in the world’s reaction to the Haiti disaster, it’s how generous people have been in donating. Musicians have led the way, and ‘Hope for Haiti Now’ have announced a superstar lineup of acts to take part in a globally televised telethon. Bruce Springsteen, Wyclef Jean, Mary J Blige and others will perform in New York, while a Los Angeles show mixes up Stevie Wonder with Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift. London sees Coldplay and a collaboration between Jay-Z, Rihanna and Bono; presumably they’ll be performing the song they’ve written specially to raise money. All the songs will then be released on iTunes, so you can buy and contribute that way too.

It’s important to end this story by stressing that, despite problems at airports and the ignorant comments of lunatic American evangelist Pat Robertson, the country needs your help and aid is getting through.
