We know this story is about Katy Perry, but we couldn’t resist. Basically, there’s a set of children’s cartoon characters called the Smurfs, which are small, blue creatures who wear uniform white hats and live in a forest. Aside from Papa Smurf, the head of the village, there’s a load of male Smurfs and one woman: Smurfette. Yes, as kids you didn’t click, but as an adult you wonder where the Smurf population actually comes from with one woman. Are they all just sexually frustrated? Might explain why they’re blue. Anyway, a film is being made, and popstar Katy Perry is being considered to voice Smurfette. Presumably they couldn’t get any actual actresses. And in case you’re both wondering, they’re a French creation.
