Isolated reality show contestants not told show cancelled for months
You might not remember Channel 4’s reality show Eden, in which 23 people lived in a remote part of the Scottish Highlands tasked with building a new society from the start, because so few people tuned it cancellation followed in July 2016. The contestants were supposed to live there for a year, with regular TV updates following them, but of course when viewing figures halved and the show was cancelled they all came home.
 
Right.
 
Wrong.
 
They finished filming this week. Channel 4 are saying ‘oh don’t worry, there’ll be a one off special’, but yeah, according to reports the ten contestants who stuck it out did not know it had been cancelled until, well, now, and have been carrying on over the winter.
 
Harsh.
