If you think British parish councils are twee affairs where everyone drinks tea and talks about parking, then you’ve never been to one. The world is currently going mad for a viral video of a Zoom session held by Handforth Parish Council which descends into shouting, people getting booted and a completely perfect soap opera clusterfuck.

 

To be honest, your scribe knows a few councils, this is not surprising.

 

It is, however, a gloriously funny way to spend 18 minutes. 18 minutes? Yes, we haven’t got the 30 second clip the news show, but a YouTube edit someone did. There’s a fuck off in the first twenty seconds. It’s that sort of thing.
