Jackson Thought He Could Change Hitler

If I told you there was a story about Michael Jackson, a Rabbi and Hitler, you’d think there was a bad joke on the way. But it’s true: taped conversations between Michael Jackson and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach have been released - which the latter says the former consented too – and in them Hitler gets a mention. A pretty strange mention: "Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was…” said Jackson. The Rabbi then asks if Jackson thinks he could have changed Hitler “Absolutely. I know I could." Which is great for music journalists, not so good news for anyone claiming Jackson was anything other than bonkers. When you hear that Jackson had lengthy conversation with a Rabbi, you’d be forgiven for thinking that was the end of the anti-Semitism rumours. Then you get this.
