James Murphy talks post LCD

He's not looking back.

James Murphy has largely retired LCD Soundsystem (“largely” because he told the New York Times he might use them for a movie song). But if you’re wondering how he’s coping without his famous moniker, the answer is very well. He told NME that life without LCD Soundsystem is pretty much the same as before:

"It doesn't affect me… It's pretty arbitrary. I made records in the studio and then wrote LCD Soundsystem [on them], and they're LCD Soundsystem. I can go and make records and just not write LCD Soundsystem – it's still me making a record, it just means it's the end of that career band which becomes a bit of a self-moving train."

He makes the band sound like an albatross, but at least there’s no nostalgia tour planned.
