James Murphy to direct

Short film coming.

James Murphy walked away from LCD Soundsystem at the height of his fame, and earlier this year we heard he was writing a novel. Now it looks like he’s moving into a third media, as he’s told Rolling Stone he’s going to direct a short film… with no less than Ron Howard acting as a mentor:

"I don't know what I'm doing, but that's what I'm excited about... Now I'll be able to call Ron Howard, which is super weird. This is the beauty of having been in a band that did well enough, I guess. You have access to something as crazy as this."

But fear not fans who want more of Murphy’s music, it’s coming: "I'm doing things that I would never have time to do, like go work on a couple of songs with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.”
