Kasabian were the band chosen by England’s Football Association to promote their new shirts, and there’s a World Cup this summer, so who better than to ignite some football spirit by playing classic anthem ‘World in Motion’ at their V Festival slot this summer. Yes, it would be a good plan – and they are planning it – but for one problem: the world cup will be over then. So they’re either going to be celebrating a victory, which should send the crowd mental, or – much more likely – reminding England of an ignominious collapse and general all round sporting embarrassment. Speaking of embarrassment, the band has suggested they might invite World in Motion co-writer, general tv wide boy and father of Lily, Keith Allen on stage with them. Just play Fire boys.
