Kasabian had a mixed night at the NME awards, a ceremony which found time to give ‘worst band’ to the Jonas Brothers. You don’t get that at the Grammys. Yes, Kasabian won both best album and best artwork, the latter for dressing up in costume, but we say mixed because partway through their live performance drummer Ian Matthews managed to break his hand. Guitarist Serge explained what happened next: "We had to get our drum technician Loz in at the last minute…He doesn't even know the songs, we just told him to go for it." Which, we think you’ll agree, is every drum techs fantasy.
