'Keep Fabric nightclub open' petition gathers steam and big name support

A petition to convince both Islington Council and the Metropolitan Police to allow London's most esteemed nightclub 'Fabric' has today garnered big name support.

The likes of Carl Craig, Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers, Modeselektor, Seth Troxler, Rob Da Bank and Kevin Saunderson have signed the petition, which was started by Fabric promoter Jacob Husley.

Husley referred to its welcoming ethos, referencing the elderly Polish couple who went clubbing there until 5am in May and hailed it afterwards as “the best club in the world”. He also stated "closing a club such as Fabric would be an incredibly short-sighted response to a complex problem.”

Bestival organiser Da Bank said: “I was a resident at Fabric for years and loved it. Don’t let it be closed down. Sign the petition.”

The Farringdon venue had its license suspended for 28 days following the tragic deaths of two 18 year olds. They are thought to have been drug related.
