Kings of Leon threatened MTV over bad review

Kings of Leon threatened MTV over bad review
Thanks to streaming, reviews are now pointless. Sorry Pitchfork, but your postmodern essays aren’t needed, as anyone can spend half an hour with an album and decide the only important thing: how it speaks to them. But in the dark past, when reviews meant sales, Kings of Leon threatened MTV over a bad one.
SPIN has the story: MTV news released a review of Kings’ single ‘Waste A Moment’ which called it “almost aggressively anonymous”, and the band threatened to quit a planned performance at the MTV Europe Music Awards over it. MTV reacted like fucking sheep, and ordered no reviews shorter than 500 words, and here’s the key quote from SPIN:
“MTV associated those kinds of blog posts with snarkiness and criticism, both of which were deemed detrimental to the network’s broader ability to work with artists who may be the subjects of such posts.”
Wait, how long are these posts?
