Calvin Johnson is the indie rock legend from Olympia, Washington (near Seattle) whose band Beat Happening and the record label he founded, K Records, kick started the Riot Girrl movement and inspired a multitude of indie rock stars such as Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love, Beck, Sonic Youth and Beth Ditto.
