La La Land director gets a musical Netflix show

La La Land director gets a musical Netflix show
Damien Chazelle directed critical hit Whiplash and Oscar storming La La Land, so he’s in very high demand… but he’s taken the bait of Netflix and will be bringing his talents to a streaming show.
He’ll only be directing two episodes, but will organise the whole thing. And what a thing: eight episodes of a ‘musical show’ set in Paris and  “a club, its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them.”
Here’s what Chazelle explained: “I’ve always dreamed of shooting in Paris, so I’m doubly excited to be teaming up with [writer Jack Thorne], Glen and [executive producer Alan Poul] on this story, and thrilled that we have found a home for it at Netflix.”
