Live acts and host announced for 2014 Brit Awards

It has today been revealed that Arctic Monkeys and Katy Perry are performing at the Brit Awards 2014, the first time either will have played.

"The BRITs has always showcased the music that I love and am influenced by," says Katy Perry. "It's an honour to play at such a prestigious event where musicality shines at its brightest."

It has been confirmed that James Corden will return as host for the fifth and final time: "I really love the BRITs. I'm such a fan. I'll miss not doing it after this one but fully intend to enjoy every second of BRITs 2014."

The ceremony will be fully transmitted on iTV and The BRIT Awards Nominations Launch will have a standalone show. "We are extremely ambitious for the 2014 show, showcasing global superstars and celebrating the incredible success of British music," says BRITs Chairman Christian Tattersfield. "We are going to pull out all the stops to make this the biggest and most exciting BRITs ever."

The BRIT Awards 2014 will take place at London's O2 on February 19th.

Who would you like to see host the Brits? Within reason, let's not be ridiculous.
