Local police saved Bono from Nice tragedy

Following the death of 85 men, women and children in the Bastille Day tragedy in France last week, it has emerged that U2 singer Bono was near the attacks.

Bono was rescued from the scene by local police as he was dining with former Nice mayor Christian Estrosi at La Petite Maison, just next to the Promenade des Anglais where the attrocities took place when a lorrt mowed down hundreds.

“It took around half an hour for the police to get us out,” a witness and fellow diner told The Mirror. “Like everybody else, Bono had to put his hands on his head, and was told to remain calm.”
