Lou Reed poems to be published for first time
April will see the publication of Do Angels Need Haircuts?, a collection of twelve poems and short stories by the great Lou Reed. Nine of them haven’t been published before, and they come with introductions from Lou and an afterword by his widow.
The poems were written in 1970 when Reed was out of music, and there will also be recordings of him reciting the poems from 1971, when he was in New York.
One of those recordings is below, from the New York Public Library’s Lou Reed archive.
