It appears the answer Disney have come up with to ‘how can our Star Wars franchise do as well as our Marvel one’ is the simple but wave making ‘bring MCU mastermind Kevin Feige over and have him to a Star Wars adventure.
This won’t be part of the 9 movie Skywalker saga, but will usher in the next era of Star Wars films. Fiege’s been a fan of Star Wars since he was young, and seems to have been waiting for this day since before he was sticking Star Wars references into the Marvel world.
Here’s some fluff from the company: “We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox...With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”
