Mark Ronson lines acts up for new album

Mark Ronson scored a hit in 2007 with an album of dubious horn led cover versions, doing for the Zuton’s Valerie what the original band could only dream of (with no little help from Amy Winehouse, the singer he helped produce). Now he’s to release a new album later this year, and let’s start with the most important point: "There's no covers, and no horns," he told NME, thus spiking most of the venom surely being aimed his way.

So what is he doing? All original material, written in part with some of the people he’s covered in the past, including Dave McCabe from the Zutons and a member of the Kaiser Chiefs. Other collaborators include Santigold (hip), Scissor Sisters (will they ever release another album), pop songwriting powerhouse Cathy Dennis (will she sing?), Miike Snow and Pill. This could go very wrong.
