McCartney’s Nerves Nearly Split The Beatles

Many performers suffer from nerves before going onstage, but they often channel this adrenaline and fear into their act. Even the best get scared, and Paul McCartney – one of the key figures in modern music – has revealed his early nerves got so bad he considered quitting the Beatles: "So I remember being on the steps of Wembley Town Hall, literally getting ill with nerves, and thinking, 'I've got to give this business up, this is no good'. It was quite nerve-wracking." He went on "I'm not so bad now. I know I've got a really good band, which helps,” suggesting he doubted that he and his Beatles bandmates were any good.
