In spoof documentary This is Spinal Tap there’s an ongoing joke about getting through a lot of drummers; Jane’s Addiction seem to be in the same situation with bassists. Former Guns’ n Roses founder Duff McKagen became Jane’s fifth bassist when he joined earlier this year, but has now left the band after only a few gigs and some new material. The band has put out a clichéd statement citing musical differences, and are now looking for bassist number 6 (the rest of the lineup remains unchanged).
