Morrissey gives details of boycott breaking tour
In 2006, Morrissey said he was boycotting Canada in protest at the seal clubbing industry within the country, and for many years he stayed true to his word. Yet, late last year he revealed he’d given up:
“My decision to return to Canada after almost 15 years of protest against its savage and Neanderthal annual Baby Seal Kill is entirely because my stance was ultimately of no use and helped no one,” he said in a rare moment of genuine self reflection. “My voice was drowned out by the merciless swing of spiked axes crushing the heads of babies.  On my return to Canada I feel that I can be of more use by making sizeable donations to animal protection groups in each city that I play.  Thankfully there are many such organisations in Canada.”
Now the details of the return are confirmed, and it’s a tour in April 2019.
April 15 Orpheum, Vancouver
April 17 Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, Calgary
April 18 Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, Edmonton
April 20 TCU Place, Saskatoon
April 22 Centennial Concert Hall, Winnipeg
April 26 Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Toronto
April 27 Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Toronto
April 29 MTELLUS, Montreal
Feel free to take seal teddy bears… if the rest of his bullshit hasn’t put you off.
