New Muse: soundtrack to the Olympics (audio)

Actually, this might work.

Muse unveiled their new track ‘Survival’ tonight on the radio, and there’s a stream of it below thanks to YouTube (but it may be taken down). A quick listen reveals that the band are sounding ever more like Queen, and if you’re thinking it’s a piece of total bombast, there’s actually a good reason: it’s been picked to be the official song of the Olympics (and McDonalds don’t seem to be involved).

As the band explained "We are very excited to announce that a Muse song, 'Survival', has been selected by the London Olympic committee to be the main official song for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Matt wrote the song with the Olympics in mind. It's about total conviction and pure determination to win." If you already like Muse, then you’ll like it, because it’s totally ridiculous. In a good way.
