New Music: Kasket

August Fades

Kasket is actually Charlie Baldwin, a twenty two year old from Brighton. Yes, we said Brighton, so you know electronica is involved. He’s about to release August Fades on Apollo, with a staggered release (physical September 10th, digital a week later), and below we’ve got a sample of the title track. It’s sinuous, distorted, and the whole record takes you on a – cliché alert – sonic journey. If anything, the sample sells the whole thing short, but you can see it’s not a chart topping banger: it’s something needing more thought.
